Downtown Orlando
Orlando has a lot to offer: lovely tree-lined neighborhoods; a rich performing arts and museum scene; several fantastic gardens and nature preserves; fabulous cuisine; and is delightfully devoid of manic crowds. So come down off the coasters to explore the quieter, gentler side of the city. You may be surprised to find that you enjoy the theme parks all that much more as a result.

The Sights in a Day
MYou don’t need a jam-packed itinerary to cover the sights of downtown Orlando – this is a good day for a leisurely and lazy start. Linger over brunch at Dexters of Thornton Park and stroll around Thornton Park. Remodeled bungalows line the narrow brick streets, giant Spanish oak weave their gnarly branches into natural green canopies, and urban-hip families gather at the lakeside playground.
RWalk the lake path at Lake Eola Park and relax with a book or take in some local history at Orange County Regional History Center.
NHead to the Westin Grand Bohemian, one of the city’s most upmarket hotels, for happy hour and jazz at the Bösendorfer Lounge, head to Stubborn Mule for dinner, then catch an improv performance at SAK Comedy Lab or live music at the Beacham.
